DD Summit 2025 Session: Combating White Supremacy within the Field of Dietetics: A Model Shown to Create Culturally Sensitive Future Professionals
There are currently no universally established guidelines to meet the DI CRDNs related to DEI and cultural competency. This leave us with a gap when it comes to combating the white supremacy that persists in the field. To our knowledge, there is not enough being done to train our future professionals for such charged social topics and how it impacts the profession. I introduced a DEI project initiative to several dietetic internship cohorts that challenged their views on DEI-related topics in an effort to create more culturally sensitive RDNs. This sessions aims to highlight an effective method employed at the internship level while educating our future practitioners in which various internship programs can model after and implement in their DIs.
CEUs are only provided on the full DD Summit recording package. Learn more here.
